Edward Medard Conservation Park

7 Stops

One of Edward Medard Conservation Park's main attractions is a 700-acre reservoir used for canoeing, boating, and fishing. The nature trails offer an amazing trip through the hills and valleys of a former phosphate mine, allowing hikers to experience terrain not often found in Florida! The trails overlooking the reservoir give visitors plenty of opportunities to see alligators, turtles, and many species of birds. If you visit just before sunset, you may get to see hundreds of egrets, ibis, and herons returning to their rookeries on the reservoir's many islands.
